TRINGA

The Tringa

(scientific name: Tringa spp.) is a genus of wading birds from the Scolopacidae family, commonly found in wetlands, coastal areas, and shallow waters across the Americas. These birds are recognized for their slender bodies, long yellow legs, and thin, slightly upturned bills, which they use to forage for small invertebrates in mudflats and shorelines. Their plumage is typically brown and white, providing excellent camouflage in their natural habitat. Tringa species are migratory, traveling vast distances between breeding and wintering grounds. Their calls, often sharp and repetitive, are a characteristic sound of marshes and estuaries.
